Novak Djokovic was spotted enjoying a bike ride on the streets of Paris ahead of his second-round match at the French Open. Djokovic emphatically kick-started his campaign, beating America’s Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the second round.

He will next be facing Frenchman Corentin Moutet, who knocked out compatriot Clement Tabur in the previous round. Djokovic has met the 26-year-old twice on the tour, winning both matches, including the second round of last year’s Italian Open.

But before that, he enjoyed his off day by cycling near the Arc de Triomphe. In a video that’s doing rounds on social media, Djokovic was riding on his bike when a woman expressed her delight upon spotting him.

Watch the video here:

Djokovic last won the French Open in 2023 by breezing past Casper Ruud. Last year, the three-time French Open was forced to withdraw from the quarterfinal match because of an injury.

Moutet, on the other hand, was defeated in the fourth round by World No.1 Jannik Sinner. It was his best performance in the tournament.

Andy Roddick feels silly after his prediction on Novak Djokovic

When the French Open draw came out, Andy Roddick backed Francisco Cerundolo to knock out Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. But after the Argentine ace’s exit, the 2003 US Open champion feels like an idiot. The 18th seed lost to Canada’s Gabriel Diallo 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round.

I want to very clearly say that I am an idiot. Very clearly. No questions asked. Novak, having won a 250 going in, is a different animal from Novak not having played in two or three weeks going in. I just have this feeling he is going to make a deep run now.

Djokovic could set up a blockbuster quarterfinal clash with last year’s French Open runner-up Alexander Zverev, who went past 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals runner-up Learner Tien to set up a second-round clash with Jesper De Jong. In the semifinal and final, the Serb could meet Jannik Sinner and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, respectively.

Jimmy Connors makes his feelings known on Novak Djokovic’s decision to play the Geneva Open

Before the French Open, Djokovic finally lifted his 100th ATP title by beating Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz at the Geneva Open. He played the event to get some match practice on clay, given that he withdrew from the Italian Open and failed to win a set in Monte Carlo and Madrid.

The title made him only the third player in the history of Men’s tennis to win 100 or more titles, joining Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer, both of who retired with 109 and 103 singles titles, respectively. Connor at first thought Djokovic only played in the ATP 250 event in the Swiss city to get some match rhythm.

But, no, he went through the whole way and won the tournament. Maybe that is him getting on a roll, which is what he really needs.

The title in Geneva (his first tour-level trophy since the 2024 Paris Olympics) also made him the first player to win a title in 20 consecutive seasons, surpassing Rafael Nadal. Djokovic last lifted a Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2023.

Since then, he made it to a Major final just once, at the 2024 Wimbledon, which he lost to Alcaraz in straight sets. At the Australian Open this year, Djokovic knocked out Alcaraz in the quarterfinals but an injury forced him to retire mid-match against Zverev in the semifinals.
