Federico Gomez opened up about his mental health struggles in an emotional Instagram post. The 28-year-old said he had “hit rock bottom” and sometimes feels like life has no meaning. His message caught the attention of Novak Djokovic, who showed his support. Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, sent him words of encouragement.
Before Djokovic’s response, other well-known figures had already reached out to Gomez. On X, Boris Becker offered to talk or give advice if Gomez needed it. Becker’s message was warm and supportive.
Courage my friend. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Paula Badosa also shared kind words for Gomez. She has faced severe depression in her career and told him to keep fighting. Badosa assured him that better days would come soon.
Gomez played in Indian Wells on Monday but lost his qualifying match to Rudy Quan. Despite the loss, the support from top players might help him through this tough time.
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz in the same draw at Indian Wells
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz played one of the best tennis matches of the year. They might face each other again soon at the first ATP Masters 1000 event of the season. Djokovic, 37, beat the 21-year-old Alcaraz in the Australian Open quarter-finals in January. The match was a test of skill and tactics.

In Indian Wells, Djokovic and Alcaraz might meet again in the quarter-finals. Before that, Djokovic could face Nick Kyrgios, who got a wild card to play. Kyrgios is back in an ATP Masters 1000 event for the first time since Cincinnati in 2022. The two have built a strong friendship over the last few years.
If Djokovic beats Kyrgios, he could play Francisco Cerundolo or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the third round. In the fourth round, he might face Alex de Minaur or Hubert Hurkacz. If he gets through, a match against Alcaraz could be next.
Alexander Zverev is on the other side of the draw as the top seed. Jannik Sinner, the world No. 1, is absent due to a suspension for failing a drug test last year. Zverev might face Tallon Griekspoor or Miomir Kecmanovic first. Stefanos Tsitsipas could meet Zverev in the quarter-finals. Daniil Medvedev is also in this part of the draw and could be a tough semi-final opponent.
