The 2024 Paris Olympics draws are out and an exciting one released for the tennis world. Novak Djokovic will feature in the top half of the draw and shockingly enough joining him there will be his all-time rival Rafael Nadal.

After the release of the draw, Djokovic was called in for an interview where he dropped a huge retirement hint. While speaking about his rivals Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray calling it quits, the Serbian also acknowledged that his time is also nearing the end but is happy that the sport is left in the great hands of the youngsters.

Andy Murray has already declared the Olympics as his final tournament of the year and will play only doubles after not being completely ready to play singles. Along with him, Nadal has already dropped retirement hints of probably staying a few months after the Olympics, leaving Djokovic wondering if he also has to join them soon.

I am aware that an era with Nadal and Murray's retirements after the Games is ending. I think my career is also coming to an end, but I believe there are and there will be tennis players who can carry the weight of being the best.

Nonetheless, the Serbian is confident that other tennis players can carry on what they have been doing for more than two decades. With a whole new generation of players, the sport has become a whole lot more challenging and the future that much more exciting.

Novak Djokovic excited to take on Rafael Nadal at the Paris Open second-round

One of the main highlights of the Paris Olympics draw reveal was the top half of the draw. At the very start, Novak Djokovic leads the draw, and right below his first-round match is the name of Rafael Nadal. As many fans wished for, they can witness another Djokovic-Nadal clash for possibly the last time in their careers.

With Jannik Sinner out of the Olympics due to illness, Djokovic became the World No.1 and will lead the draw from the front. He will face Australian doubles pro Matthew Ebden in the first round and if he manages to win that, and Nadal his first-round match, then there can be a clash of the titans.

Nadal on the other hand has not had much practice heading into the games. He recently made his first-ever ATP final since 2022 and lost to Nuno Borges there but will face a tougher draw at the Olympics. Although now there are injury rumors, in the next couple of days Nadal’s participation will be clear.
