Novak Djokovic is in Monte Carlo and is gearing up for the first Masters 1000 event on clay this year. Before his opening round, Djokovic was taken aback by a question related to dating.
An interviewer from Overtime told the Serb that he was looking to shoot his shot at a girl he saw on Instagram. When he asked the World No.5 what he should say to that girl, Djokovic couldn’t help himself laughing at this unexpected question.
Okay, you got to give me a little bit more of a context.
Novak Djokovic replied
The interviewer said he was scrolling on Instagram and saw a picture of the girl posing in a cafe. Djokovic asked him whether he sent the girl a text on Instagram. The interviewer said he liked one of her stories.
When Djokovic asked him what’s his approach line, he said he was going to like three of her photos and see what she does. Hearing the answer, Djokovic shared his advice, which the interview called the ‘perfect’ approach line.
But I think your expectations are too high my friend. Be proactive…do not wait! You caught my attention.

Novak Djokovic reveals what gave him more inspiration to keep playing tennis
Novak Djokovic is in the twilight of his career and is often seen struggling in matches. He has not yet claimed a title since winning the Paris Olympics; and on the ATP Tour, Djokovic last lifted the 2023 ATP Finals. But last month, Djokovic once again proved why no one should write him off.

He progressed to the Miami Open final where Jakub Mensik denied him his 100th ATP title with a straight-set win. Although the defeat was “bitter” for him, one strong campaign was enough for him to feel motivated and keep going.
There is no doubt that it has become more difficult throughout my career but the performances in Miami, when I am playing that way, it gives me more inspiration to keep going. It just feels great on the court when you are striking the ball well and winning matches. Obviously, when you start losing early you have more questions and inner voices, which are bringing doubts about whether you should keep going.
Novak Djokovic said at the pre-tournament press conference
Before the Miami Open, Djokovic registered three consecutive defeats. He withdrew mid-match from the Australian Open semifinal against Alexander Zverev and was defeated by Matteo Berrettini and Botic van de Zandschulp in the Qatar Open and the Indian Wells opening rounds, respectively.
Novak Djokovic prepares for revenge on Alejandro Tabilo
Stan Wawrinka would have scheduled a second-round clash with Novak Djokovic had he defeated Alejandro Tabilo in his Monte Carlo Masters first-round match. But the 27-year-old came from a set down to knock out the 2014 Monte Carlo Masters champion to set up a second-round clash with the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Djokovic didn’t secure a win when he faced the Chilean in their first and only match in the round of 32 of last year’s Italian Open. If the two-time Monte Carlo Masters champion advances to the quarterfinals, he may face Daniil Medvedev. In the semifinals and the final, Djokovic could set up a match against defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas and World No.3 Carlos Alcaraz respectively.
Last year in The Principality, the 27-year-old was knocked out in the semifinals by Casper Ruud. Djokovic had a decent campaign on the clay swing overall last year as he made deep runs in multiple tournaments and also clinched his career’s first Olympics gold medal at Roland Garros by overcoming Alcaraz in straight sets.
