Former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has provided an encouraging injury update that will delight his fans. The Serbian star has been named to the Serbian Olympic team and is expected to be fully fit for the games.
Djokovic’s challenging year worsened when he sustained a severe knee injury in the fourth round of the French Open. After hitting his knee on the ground, he revealed that he had suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee. Consequently, the Serbian had to withdraw from the Grand Slam and undergo immediate surgery.
With the Paris Olympics in mind, the Serbian underwent a quick rehabilitation process and was expected to be fine before the games. However, he might miss the Wimbledon and appear to be giving priority to his country. Recently, the Olympic Committee for Serbia confirmed the participation of their best tennis player.
Novak Djokovic and Dusan Lajovic have fulfilled the conditions according to ATP ranking and confirmed their participation at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris 2024.Team Serbia’s statement read
Djokovic has a lot to prove at the Olympics, having only won one bronze in four participations. Eyeing that maiden gold medal, the Serbian ace hopes to return to Roland Garros and win the first title of the year.

Novak Djokovic’s era is not over claims Marion Bartoli as she highlights the Serbian’s greatness
Serbian ace Novak Djokovic is still in pursuit of the 25th Grand Slam title as he struggles to find form all year. Just as he found a hint of form at the French Open, a knee injury hit him, forcing him to withdraw from the French Open and jeopardizing his participation at Wimbledon.
Many even proclaim that Djokovic’s era is over and is due to retire. However, former Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli feels that Djokovic is far from over and compared his games to the other players in the finals of the Grand Slam.
The number of mistakes made by these players in the finals of Grand Slam tournaments where the level is higher… This is not at all the end of the Novak Djokovic era.Marion Bartoli said via RMC Sports
Nevertheless, the Serbian is set to make a return at the Paris Olympics and win a gold for his country. Although the surgery is successful and he has started his recovery, there is little hope in the fans that Serbian might show up for Wimbledon.
