Novak Djokovic has finally confirmed his participation in the 2024 Wimbledon Championships after several days of doubts about his fitness. Having recently had knee surgery, he admitted that the recovery process was not easy and had to turn to a few of his friends for help and advice.
The Serbian suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee, which forced him to withdraw from the French Open and undergo surgery. With little to no hopes of recovering on time for Wimbledon, Djokovic’s participation in the grass Major hung in the balance.
However, Djokovic has since confirmed his Wimbledon participation. In a recent interview, he disclosed that he had called many people to gain knowledge and know their opinions during his recovery, including Taylor Fritz.
The truth is that I called the whole world [Taylor] Fritz, [Stan] Wawrinka, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, I wanted to know everything, they helped me a lot and I wanted to thank them. The process was long but we managed to meet this challenge, I think my surgeon is there.
