18-time grand slam champion Novak Djokovic is often criticised for getting ‘too aggressive’ on court but the Serb has worked towards this trait and is a lot calmer nowadays. He recently spoke about meditation in his everyday life and how effective the process has been.
Also, after winning the Monte Carlo Masters last week, Stefanos Tsitsipas revealed his inclination towards Buddhism and meditation. The Greek credited mindfulness practices, especially conscious breathing, for his recent success.
After his recent win over Kwon Soon-woo at the Serbia Open, Djokovic said, “I have incorporated aspects of meditation into my daily routines, they make me feel good.”

The world no.1 also said that meditation has become an important part of his life. He also ‘is glad’ that Tsitsipas is practicing the same. Djokovic believes all tennis players can make use of meditation, provided they find the methods best suited to them.
He said: “Meditation is really important in my day to day. Breathing, mindfulness… I am glad that Stefanos Tsitsipas is doing all that as well, and it is clear that the results are a good sample of the benefits.”
“It is clear that meditation is not the only factor, but I know that it can help all tennis players a lot. You have to find your own formula, I have achieved it and everyone should probably look for theirs.”
Novak Djokovic will next play fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic in the Serbia Open Quarter-Final while Stefanos Tsitsipas will play Felix Auger Aliassime in the Barcelona Open Quarter-Final.
