Novak Djokovic beat Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets in the semi-final match on Friday (August 2nd). Both the players were up against each other for a spot in the all-exciting finals alongside Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic was fresh off a win against Stefanos Tsitsipas. He had a great start against the Greek but faced many difficulties toward the latter half of the match including calling the physio twice. With the uncertainty of his knee still a major factor, the Serbian showed up and won his semi-final match against Musetti.

Unlike the last match, Djokovic had an extremely shaky start in the first set. He had recorded 12 unforced errors to just 5 winners of his, but still kept his opponent at bay and won the first set at the end. He displayed a lot of emotions during that set which amplified in the next one.

Previously, the Serbian had only won bronze back in 2008 and since failed to make a memorable run at the Games. This year, Djokovic has prioritized the Games and desperately wants to win a medal for his country.

With that win, the Serbian made it to his first-ever Olympic final and will take on his rival Carlos Alcaraz for gold. The Spaniard made it there after an easy win over Felix Auger Aliassime. Djokovic and Alcaraz have faced each other once before this year, with the youngster winning that clash in the most dominating manner.
