“No b*lls!” Nuggets’ Michael Malone lashes out at Kings’ management after Mike Brown’s firing
Sacramento is in shock as news of their head coach, Mike Brown's sudden and abrupt firing, spreads across the internet.

Kings' head coach, Mike Brown, dismissed of his duties
The head coach of the Sacramento Kings, Mike Brown, was relieved of his duties in a sudden move by the franchise, seemingly after struggling to end their losing streak. Following a five-game downswing and having lost 12 of their last 17 games, the Kings currently sit in 12th place in the 15-team Western Conference.
The NBA community was caught off guard by the announcement of the firing of the former “Unanimous Head Coach of the Year 2022-2023,” Kings’ mentor Mike Brown. Many of his peers and other league coaches shared their raw reactions to the shocking news. Among them, the championship-winning head coach of the Denver Nuggets, Mike Malone, who himself was abruptly dismissed by the Kings back in 2015, voiced his unfiltered opinion on the event.
I’m not surprised that Mike Brown got fired, because I got fired by the same person, and what really pissed me off about it was the fact that they lost [Thursday] night, fifth game in a row, I believe. Tough loss. … They had practiced this morning. He does his postgame media, and he’s in his car going to the airport to fly to L.A. and they call him on the phone. No class, no b*lls. That’s what I’ll say about that.

Slamming the Kings’ ownership and management for the way they handled the decision, despite their labeling it a “difficult decision,” the Nuggets’ head coach directly called out Vivek Ranadive. Clearly, the situation could have been handled with more professionalism, and this media disaster could have been smartly mitigated.
Even fans were taken aback by this ruling, listing countless contributions Brown made to Sacramento’s team since his joining. Mike Brown ended the Kings’ playoff drought, changed the culture, turned the team into one with a winning record, and took charge of player development. He transformed De’Aaron Fox into the Clutch Player of the Year and led the squad deep into the in-season tournament last season, to name a few.
Mike Brown’s viral talk with De’Aaron Fox before the termination
Mere moments before the news of the firing broke the internet, a one-on-one between the teacher and the student is going viral. During the practice before the next match-up, a video, where the head coach, Mike Brown can be seen calling Fox aside and having a minute-long heartfelt conversation with his franchise player.
Although, unclear as to what he is saying right now, this is being discussed and talked about for sure. Nonetheless, De’Aaron Fox, seems pretty engaged and actively nodding in agreement as his head coach speaks.
These are cold and concerning times in Sacramento, especially since trade rumors involving De’Aaron Fox have taken over the airwaves. Speculation suggests that Fox’s agency, Klutch Sports—whose portfolio includes powerful names like LeBron James and Anthony Davis—may be in talks with the Lakers.
With a 13-18 record, the Sacramento Kings will next fly out to Crypto Arena to face off against the 17-13 Los Angeles Lakers. Fans are eager to see what the players has to say in the post-game interview with their new interim head coach, Doug Christie.
