OB27 update features in Free Fire: New gun, Pet, Bermuda 2.0 Map & More

Free Fire’s OB27 update is arriving shortly, and with the release of the Advanced Server, players are being able to take a peek at some of the new features arriving in the game. The latest iteration of Free Fire, i.e., OB26, was released back in early February. However, fans are already hyped up for the arrival of the upcoming OB27 update.

The popularity of Free Fire arises from the fact that the developers regularly introduce new updates, which adds fresh content to boost user experience. The latest OB26 update was released in February and was well-received by the players. Garena has geared up for the next update with the release of the OB27 update and Advance Server, which is meant to test the new features before implementation.

With every update, Garena brings in a host of new items, events, and also new characters. The OB patch updates are one of the major updates that the game gets regularly post every 2 months.

OB27 Update Patch Notes:

The OB27 update in Free Fire is expected to release on April 14, 2021. As of now, developers have not made any official announcement, but the players know that there is no harm in relying on the gaming community’s expert prediction. Like previous OB updates, the game’s mechanism has gone through modifications with this update too.

New Weapon : Kord Machine Gun

KORD -12.7 mm is a Russian design heavy damage causing Machine Gun that is coming in this OB27 update replacing the older NSV machine gun. It offers a near decent rate of fire and heavy damage over mid to long-range. The gun unleashes its true potential when used while crouching. Crouching adds buff to its rate of fire and damage dealt.

This gun will only require a scope as an attachment. Moreover, this gun can serve to be a good alternative for the M60 and M249, the other LMGs present in the game at the moment.

When it comes to ammo used by heavy guns in the game, they use AR ammo. The magazine’s exact capacity is not revealed yet, but since it is a machine gun, then it would definitely have more capacity than AR.

Side Weapons:

Dual USP is something that was anticipated by the players since long and is now finally coming in this update. After Vector, this is the second weapon to get the dual wield feature. Beside this, a new side weapon shotgun called the m1973 is also going to feature in the game for the first time after the OB27 update.

New Characters: OB27 Patch

Xtrema,  Elite Andrew and MR1:

Xtrema is a girl belonging to the wild and her character skill is an active ability named Xtreme Encounter. The skill gives 100 HP temporarily for 8s, extra 50% damage to shield and glue walls. All effects last for 8s and the cooldown is 150s. These are the stats currently out in the advanced server, the actual stats might differ when the update goes live.

Free Fire is putting efforts to target the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) players by letting them play with their favorite character by collaborating with Mohamed Ramadan. There aren’t any leaks available about the special ability or skill of the MR1 character.

Elite Andrew will be named as Andrew “the Fierce”. Similar to other Elite characters, players have to awaken Andrew using the awakening shards. Elite Andrew’s special skill or ability would be a Passive skill. It works as follows: Run for x seconds to activate. When activated, the first x shots at the target of x% damage which It lasts for 3 seconds and the numbers denoted by x would change based on the level of the character.

New Pet : Etzin

The OB27 update’s new pet is named ‘ETzin’, who can be seen wearing a Cap and bandana, while sitting on his UFO, playing Free Fire on his mobile. ETzin’s special ability reduces the damage taken while the character is using the healing items. In simple words, if the character is using Medical Kits, Inhaler, and even Healing Pistols, the damage suffered while the process would be less.

The new alien pet is coming soon onto the lands of Free Fire with a pretty useful pet skill. His skill is called Paranormal Protection. At level 1, the skill offers a 20% reduction in damage taken when the user is in interaction countdown. This means a player will take less damage when using medkit, zone predictor or repairing etc.

Full Bermuda 2.0 Map

The announcement of the remastered version of Bermuda was made just after the OB24 update, but since then, the new Bermuda map could not make its way to the game permanently. Bermuda 2.0 map comes with many changes compared to the standard Bermuda map. The Advanced Server released before the OB24 update had the Bermuda 2.0 map. It is a mix-up of new locations as well as the old Bermuda map. The 4 locations available early have also gone through a name change along with other changes.

New Training Island:

Lastly, the training island is also going through some changes with the OB27 update. One of the most attractive changes would be the addition of a ring that lets players challenge other players.

Apart from these, several characters’ skills will also receive particular buffs and nerfs in the OB27 Update. Users spotted two of them – Chrono and Wukong. Merging of awakened and normal abilities is one of the key changes. This means that now the skills of awakened characters will only take one slot.

It is also likely that some of the new features from the OB27 Update Advance Server will make their way into the battle royale title.
