Aaron Rodgers is set to play his 21st season in the NFL, which could be his last. He chose the Pittsburgh Steelers as his destination to see out his career and maybe even win one last piece of silverware before walking away from the spotlight.

Rodgers confidently claimed that the Steelers are among the 10 favorite teams to win the Super Bowl in February. His confidence stems from the fact that the Steelers’ wide receiver room is loaded with quality players.

Roman Wilson, Robert Woods, Calvin Austin, and Ben Skowronek are solid players, even though George Pickens is no longer with the team. General Manager Omar Khan went to work and traded for All-Pro wideout DK Metcalf from the Seahawks.

Khan also added 6-foot-3 Jonnu Smith in the tight end room as cover for Pat Freiermuth. And they might still have room for one more.

Odell Beckham Jr., who is without a team, disclosed his desire to play with Aaron Rodgers. While appearing on comedian Bill Maher’s show, OBJ talked about the possibility of joining the Steelers.

I love him, and we’ve had conversations. I won’t say that it’s not a possibility, and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communication.

Several of OBJ’s former teammates are at present in Pittsburgh. Beckham Jr. won his only Super Bowl ring with the Rams, where he was teammates with Jalen Ramsey and Ben Skowronek. He played with Patrick Queen in Baltimore and Jonnu Smith, and a second time with Ramsey in Miami. Moreover, Rodgers himself has been friends with Beckham for a long time.

Odell and I have been friends for a number of years now, and so, we keep in contact often. We talked at various times over the years. Obviously, with a player like that, you’re always hoping there’s a time where you can figure things out and play together.

There are interests from other teams, but failing to find a new home might force him into early retirement. However, Beckham is not ready to give up on his dreams of a second ring, and he made that clear in a recent tweet.

Beckham spent the last season in Miami, and before that, he was with the Baltimore Ravens after leaving the Los Angeles Rams and the Cleveland Browns.

OBJ began his career with the New York Giants. He was sad and disappointed when the Giants traded him to the Browns because he had always dreamed of winning the Super Bowl with them.

The Steelers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener without Rodgers ever taking a rep. It will likely continue because the 4x NFL MVP hurt his leg this week.

Footage from the training ground at St. Vincent College revealed Rodgers’s leg being wrapped in bandages to avoid further damage.

Initially, it raised a red flag because Rodgers recently recovered from a torn Achilles tendon. Fortunately, Coach Tomlin claimed it’s nothing too serious.

He just got stepped on. It was nothing of any significance. He finished his work.

Mike Tomlin said

Rodgers is still on track to face his former side, the New York Jets, in week one, but before that, the Steelers play two friendlies against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers.
