Odell Beckham Jr. has not played in the NFL since 2024 but wants to compete again this year.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s performance at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Los Angeles shouted a clear message: ‘I am available, NFL. Give me another chance.’ The veteran wide receiver proved that he has not lost his touch.

OBJ, along with several other NFL stars including Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, DeAndre Hopkins, Ashton Jeanty, Saquon Barkley, and Derrick Henry, participated in the Tom Brady-led flag football event at the BMO Stadium in LA on Saturday. Split into two teams, NFL athletes played against the USA national flag football team, led by quarterback Darrell “Housh” Doucette III.

Beckham found himself part of the Wildcats FFC alongside Daniels, Burrow, Logan Paul, and IShowspeed. Midway through the Wildcats’ matchup against the USA, Beckham soared over two defenders to snag a one-handed catch from a pass by Daniels.

Besides the touchdown, Beckham impressed everyone by racking up 35 receiving yards on six receptions. However, the Wildcats suffered a 39-14 loss to Team USA. Still only 33, OBJ is seeing the FFC as a platform to attract NFL attention to him.

Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully, this is kinda just a starting point.

This would not be the first time that OBJ has attempted a return to the NFL after not playing for one year. Back in 2022, he sat out the season as he recovered from an ACL injury. The following year, he signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

Is Odell Beckham Jr. still playing football?

Beckham made 14 appearances with 6 being starts in Baltimore. He caught 35 passes for 565 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. In two playoff games, he went 4 for 34 yards.

The Ravens released him after the season. Ahead of the 2024 season, the Miami Dolphins picked him up in a cut-price deal. However, he was stuck playing WR4 behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Malik Washington. The Super Bowl winner did not start a single game and was waived in December. Before leaving Miami, OBJ had 9 catches for 55 yards.

Once again, Beckham found himself playing the waiting game. In October 2025, the NFL handed OBJ a six-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The move pretty much killed off any lingering interest teams had in signing him.

He is back in NFL team’s radar once more. According to league sources, Beckham is heavily linked with a move back to the Giants, who drafted him 12th overall in 2014. When Adams floated the news to OBJ, this was his reaction.

That sounds great. If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that. [I’d] be excited about that.

Giants quarterback Jaxon Dart seems to be a massive admirer of the Pro Bowl wideout. Earlier this year, when he posted a compilation of his impressive rookie year, OBJ reacted to it in the comment section. Dart returned the compliment.

Beckham played five seasons for the NFC East franchise, racking up 5,476 receiving yards with 44 touchdowns on 390 total receptions.
