It is official. Odell Beckham Jr. is headed to the sunny state of Florida as the newest member of the Miami Dolphins roster. The wide receiver has inked a one-year deal worth $8.25 million with the team as per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, it comes after his one-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens ended with a disappointing exit in the AFC Championship.
Odell Beckham Jr. has visited many teams in the offseason, the Baltimore Ravens opted to not bring him back and since then, out of the multiple teams which have been courting him, the Miami Dolphins put in the most effort. Head coach Mike McDaniel had revealed last month that the team had made an offer to him earlier and that they were “trying pretty hard” to bring him on board.
Their hard work has clearly paid off as the Dolphins now add yet another key weapon to their already dangerous offensive core. Odell Beckham Jr. earned $16 million in his contract with the Baltimore Ravens, however, he failed to put up numbers on the field to justify that amount.
Fans react to Odell Beckham Jr. signing with the Miami Dolphins
OBJ has not been the same since his ACL injury with the Los Angeles Rams but by no means is he washed. His route running and skills continue to make him a wide receiver that NFL teams would blindly sign if available. The Miami Dolphins now have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle spearheading that stacked offensive roster, OBJ is the cherry on the top, the missing piece to that puzzle who will elevate their offense to the top of the NFL.
This off-season, Odell Beckham Jr’s priority has been to sign with a team that has the potential to be a legitimate contender to make the Super Bowl, and what better place to take one’s talents to than South Beach?
After news broke concerning the Dolphins’ latest signing, fans could not believe that this was in fact true. Here’s how they reacted to it via X:

It’s understandable why fans are skeptical about this signing. After all, OBJ is not who he was. But he is not a wideout that defenses are willing to risk leaving open when one has Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on offense, one needs to ensure they are double-teamed almost always, now add an OBJ to that equation, and somebody is going to end up having an open lane to the end zone. Miami’s offense will be electric next season, it really will be Super Bowl or bust for them!
