Tyreek Hill demanded the suspension of the officer who forcefully detained him
Several days have passed since Hill laid face first on the road. The Dolphins won one game and lost one, including the major blow to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Despite all that, American citizens want to see a resolution in Hill’s case.
Even though the Super Bowl winner admitted that he could have handled the situation a lot better, while standing in front of a bunch of reporters, he demanded that the Maimi Dade Police take swift action and fire the officer.
Each action that a law enforcement official takes is governed by standard operating procedures. We are of the opinion that the officer's use of force was excessive, escalating, and reckless. We are demanding that the officer be terminated effective immediately.Julius Collins, Tyreek Hill’s attorney, said in a statement
Meanwhile, the police department urged all parties to refrain from publicly commenting on the officer.
We urge all parties to refrain from making public statements that may misrepresent our client's actions and mislead the public about Mr. Hill's detainment. The Sentinel wrote
In light of the incident, the officer requested to be relieved of administrative duties and to be reinstated in his position.
