WATCH: “Had an open three and chose violence” – OG Anunoby is going VIRAL for posterizing Joel Embiid in Game 6

OG Anunoby and Joel Embiid
The Philadelphia 76ers welcomed the New York Knicks to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for a crucial Game 6 encounter. Although it was a well-contested game that saw both sides give it their all, one moment in the game has gone viral for what happened and who it happened to.
New York Knicks small forward OG Anunoby during the last two minutes of the fourth quarter decided to go against reigning MVP and 76ers center Joel Embiid. The moment has got a lot of fans talking because Anunoby had the opportunity to go for the “beyond the arc” shot, but then changed his mind and chose to attack the rim with Embiid guarding it, thus posterizing him.
The New York Knicks eventually knocked out the 76ers 118-115 after a well-contested series which at some point looked like was going to head to Game 7. The Knicks led by the best player in the East Jalen Brunson led the player’s statistics chart with a game-high of 41 points, three rebounds, and 12 assists while Embiid led the Sixers with 39 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists.
Anunoby came up with 19 points, and nine rebounds while Game 5 hero for the Philadelphia 76ers, Tyrese Maxey was only able to come up with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Next for the Knicks is an Eastern Conference semi-final game against the Indiana Pacers on the 6th of May.
Fans react to OG Anunoby poster dunk on Joel Embiid
OG Anunoby took no hostages when he went for the jugular as he attacked the rim of the host Philadelphia 76ers. He didn’t even consider for a moment that the feared and sometimes dangerous Joel Embiid was right there, and he still went for it.
Moments like this are what fans live and pay for. The clip of the act has gone viral, especially on popular social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) where one user wrote, “OG Anunoby had an open 3 and chose VIOLENCE on Joel Embiid instead.”
Check out a couple of other social media reactions below:
Furthermore, the talking points of the game on social media have been dominated by the viral dunk instead of a clash of fans, which is interesting to note. However, the Knicks have to move on and prepare for what would be a more challenging contest against the Pacers and a reunion between former Toronto Pacers NBA title winners Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby.
