The OKC Thunder have garnered all the attention from the NBA world and the bookies after their recent run of form

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
At the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, nobody claimed that the Oklahoma City Thunder would be favorites for the 2025 NBA title. Especially with the likes of the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, the Denver Nuggets, and the Los Angeles Lakers battling out with them. However, as per the present NBA 2025 title betting odds, the Thunder have shocked everyone.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are now the clear favorite to win the NBA title, surpassing the Boston Celtics in the most recent odds from major sportsbooks. On FanDuel the odds are: Thunder +175, Celtics +190. In addition, on DraftKings, the odds are: Thunder +175, Celtics +225. The Thunder’s odds have risen slightly to +175 from +170 in the last week.

OKC Thunder, led by star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averages a league-best 33 points per game, has won 10 of its previous 11 games. OKC has been sensational this year, dominating the league with the greatest record, and the bookies are finally giving them the recognition they deserve.
On the other hand, the Celtics, the reigning champions, are now second on the board at +225, up from +230(per DraftKings). The Celtics currently hold the league’s third-best record (49-19) and have secured a playoff berth as they try to defend their championship.
However, one cannot take away the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite losing four of their last five games, the Los Angeles Lakers’ new superstars, LeBron James and Luka Doncic, have helped the franchise regain championship momentum.
The Thunder have a load of ‘questionable’ players lined up for their upcoming game
The Oklahoma City Thunder will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday evening at the Wells Fargo Center. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, their finest player, has been ruled out for the game due to rest. Gilgeous-Alexander is having an outstanding season in the NBA and is a strong contender for the NBA MVP award.
Not only SGA but the likes of Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, and Ousmane Dieng are also out for the game on Wednesday. In addition, Cason Wallace and Isaiah Hartenstein are reportedly ‘questionable’ for the 76ers matchup. This puts the Thunder side in a vulnerable situation, despite being qualified for the NBA Playoffs.

In 66 games, their star player has averaged 33.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks, while shooting 52.6% from the field and 37.1% from three. The Thunder are the Western Conference’s top seed, with a 56-12 mark in 68 games. They are on a three-game victory streak (and 9-1 in their past ten). But with many of their players out, there is a huge possibility that the winning streak may come to an end.
OKC Thunder are in lead to land Kevin Durant during offseason
For years, supporters have waited for the OKC Thunder to make a big move on the trade market. In the views offered by Nekias Duncan and Steven Jones of The Dunker Podcast, the Thunder appear to be a perfect fit, as they recently named the team as the best landing location for Kevin Durant this offseason, raising questions about a possible reunion.

Notably, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst had also claimed that Durant is unsettled at the Phoenix Suns and was looking out for a move elsewhere during February’s trade deadline. However, Durant remained with the Suns after the franchise’s failed attempts to move their star. That said, the Thunder would break the internet if they were to sign Durant.
The possibility of Durant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sharing the court would surely terrorize the opponents for the upcoming season. Although it is still early days to talk about this move. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to watch how the offseason unfolds for Durant and the Thunder.
