Draymond Green isn’t a fan of the OKC Thunder’s postgame routine

The Oklahoma City Thunder have emerged as a strong contender in the Western Conference, but sadly, not everyone has been impressed with the way their young core of players are running things. One person not impressed has been Draymond Green, who took to his podcast to express his doubts about the Oklahoma City Thunder’s contention potential.

Draymond Green cited their post-game media interviews, where it’s a routine for their players to speak together, as a factor diminishing their intimidation factor. However, according to Green, top teams like the 90s Bulls, 2000s Lakers, as well as the Miami Heat’s “Big Three” instilled fear in opponents while in contrast, the Thunder’s laid-back demeanor and “brotherly camaraderie” don’t convey the same level of ruthlessness.

The one thing I see about the OKC team that’s alarming to me is their postgame. Seven guys in the interview. There’s a certain seriousness it takes to win in this league. And there’s a certain fear you have to instill in teams in order to win. I just don’t know if they’re instilling that fear in teams with all the bromance and stuff after the game.

Despite what Green thinks or says, the OKC Thunder boasts impressive talent, led by MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. And, alongside him are Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, and defensive stalwart Lu Dort. They have a solid core.

Furthermore, through four games and being the last unbeaten team in the West, their star player Gilgeous-Alexander currently averages 26.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists. The young OKC Thunder players have found a system that has worked for them and they don’t have to fix what’s not broken.

Oklahoma City Thunder dominate San Antonio Spurs in 105-93 victory

During the past week, the San Antonio Spurs suffered a 105-93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, which effectively exposed their struggles on both offense and defense. It was a quiet night for their talisman, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as he ended the game with 18 points, four rebounds, and five assists.

Regardless, the OKC Thunder proved that they are not a one-man team as Lu Dort stepped up to top the player statistics chart with 20 points, six rebounds, and a single assist. For the Spurs, their best player for the games was Harrison Barnes with 18 points followed by Jeremy Sochan who chipped in 17 points.

However, reigning Rookie of the Year, Victor Wembanyama had a disappointing outing, as he scored just six points on 1-for-5 shooting. Regardless of what Draymond Green and the others think of the OKC Thunder, they know how to win and they would hope it stays that way when they travel to face the Portland Trail Blazers next.
