Ole Gunner Solskjaer uncertain about Chris Smalling’s future at the club


Manchester United reclaimed their Champions League spot under Ole Gunner Solskjaer as they finished third in the Premier League last season. After a fairytale ending last season United began their new campaign with a defeat against Crystal Palace.
United’s disastrous defeat against Crystal Palace further agitated their fans who are already frustrated with their team’s progress in the transfer window. In his recent interview ahead of the Brighton game Ole hinted about Chris Smalling’s future and how the pandemic has affected the second-tier teams.

In his interview, Ole talked about the former England defender Chris Smalling. Smalling has been training on his own after returning from a successful loan spell at Roma. Reports suggested that United will extend Smalling’s contract this season but Ole did not seem certain about it.
Talking about Smalling, “Different things need to happen then. Let’s see if there is that change. Let’s see what happens to Chris when the transfer window closes.”
Solskjaer expressed his concerns over the lower league clubs

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also talked about the pandemic and the future of game which will be played behind closed doors at least until January 2021.
Expressing his concern about the lower league clubs, Ole said, “The situation we are in makes it so difficult to predict what is going to happen. The rate is going up. I am worried for League One and League Two, of course we are, but all the Premier League teams are losing money.Hopefully we don’t lose too many clubs. Locally we have seen clubs struggle. It is not a nice situation to be in.”
