Earlier this week freshman Sunisa Lee of the No.7 Auburn Gymnastics team added another laurel to her already long list of achievements. Suni Lee, along with her senior Derrian Gobourne were honoured at the SouthEastern Conference for postseason awards voted by the league’s head coaches.

Gobourne was aware the Co-specialist of the Year according to the release on Wednesday. Lee on the other hand, was awarded the Freshman of the Year, and along with that she was also placed on the All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman teams. Suni Lee created history for the Auburns as she became their first champion since 1994 after winning the conference bars title with a perfect 10.0 score.

Lee managed to maintain her impressive streak this year, winning a total of 10 bars, 6 beam, 3 floor and 1 vault titles. This has also been the first year where two Tigers have been honoured in one season.
