Nike made headlines again at the Mets game, following Ludacris‘ memorable pitch in giant Air Force 1s. This time, Team USA gymnast and Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles stepped onto the field in a brand-new pair of Air Max Muses. The shoe didn’t even have a name when Chiles showed them off during the ceremonial pitch.

Jordan Chiles was the special guest at the New York Mets game against the Cincinnati Reds on September 6th. As a Nike athlete, she did two things at once: throwing the ceremonial first pitch and showing off Nike’s new shoes. Chiles wore a custom Mets jersey with her last name and the number 23 on the back. The crowd cheered as the Olympian threw the first pitch, just a little outside to Tyrone Taylor.

Chiles was also spotted playing catch with Pete Alonso before the game. Even then, she casually showed off the shoes while walking around Citi Field. Chiles shared a series of pictures from the Mets game on her Instagram.

One of the photos included Tyrone Taylor after her pitch. She also gave a close-up of the shoes in a video. In the caption, Chiles hinted that she was bringing something new to New York Fashion Week with Nike.

After the Paris Olympics heartbreaking tragedy, Jordan Chiles has kept herself busy with promotions and brand deals. Prior to the Mets game, the gymnast also celebrated her new ambassadorship with skincare brand Vaseline. She posed for their Pro Vita B3 serum and posted on her Instagram story.

Jordan Chiles next stop: MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards

While Jordan Chiles expressed her heartbreak over the bronze medal being taken away from her, she announced taking a small break from social media. But as they say, the show much go on. Chiles announced on her story that she will be taking the role of presenter at MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards.

The VMAs are scheduled for 11th of September at the UBS Arena in Long Island. Superstars such as, Shawn Mendes, Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion, Chapell Roan, etc. are set to perform at the event. A week later, the American gymnast will take the road for her Gold Over America Tour along with Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera, Fred Richard, and others.

Back in 2021, her fellow gymnast Simone Biles was one of the presenters at the VMAs. One common thing between both the two gymnasts and the timeline of their invitations was their tragedies with the Olympics. Back in 2020, Simone Biles pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics due to the ‘twisties’ and then got the platform to spread awareness to the people. Fans assume this could be Chiles’ moment to reflect on her Paris Olympics journey.
