I’m here (and being taken care of by the one and only @MikaelaShiffrin)…patched up…thank you so much for all of the messages. I’m grateful for all the words of love and support. This sport can be brutal, but I still love it. Will share more later.

What injuries has Aleksander Ammodt Kilde suffered from the unfortunate crash in Wengen?

The sport of skiing can sometimes become extremely dangerous with an athlete coming down from a mountain top at a speed of nearly 150 km per hour. Aleksander Ammodt Kilde’s horrific accident came after he hit the fences at a speed of 145 km per hour.

This scary scene saw the race being interrupted. The three-time winner on this course and 2020 world champion was airlifted to a hospital by a helicopter from the event. Since then fans have been praying for his quick recovery while patiently waiting for an update from him.

As per reports from The Guardian, the 31-year-old has now dislocated his shoulder. Apart from this, he has suffered some cuts on the nose, and legs and some bruises.

This could be seen as positive news as things looked way worse at first instance. Only time will tell how long Kilde will be out due to this. He though was not the only ski star who suffered a major injury at this event and had to be airlifted.

On Friday, French star Alexis Pinturault crashed during the super G-race and suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The ACL injury is reported to be one of the most brutal injuries which usually sees stars being out for 7-9 months. Fans are now hoping to see him and Kilde back on the track soon while being fully fit and healthy.
