The incident involved Utah gymnast Jillie Hoffmann mocked and disrespected by Livvy’s fans. This has significantly impacted the player, as her mother puts it on her social media accounts.

The season for college athletics in gymnastics began in a nasty manner for Louisiana State University. The University of Utah team defeated the LSU team in their very first match of the season. Olivia Dunne, however, was not part of the starting lineup that featured for the LSU team.
Following this, the fans engaged in hooliganism, disrespecting and rudely behaving with Utah gymnast Jillie Hoffman. As her mother writes, she was constantly being mocked by Olivia Dunne’s fans, calling her “Livvy 2.0”. They also took a picture with Jillie before dispersing. However, Hoffman’s mother has clarified that the fans did not harass them.
Former US national team gymnast and Olympian Samantha Peszek has posted a video of fans being rude and disrespectful. In the caption, she writes, “This is actually so scary and disturbing and cringey. I’m embarrassed for them…”
In the comments, American sports commentator Kathy Johnson also expressed her thoughts about this incident. In the comments to Peszek’s tweet, she says,
“I was walking out just behind you, Sam, and they were screaming to me, ‘Are you Livvy’s mom? Are you Livvy’s mom?’ Very disturbing. Creepy actually.”
Furthermore, Johnson also expressed her thoughts about how this should be a lesson to all the teenage fans of Livvy. As much as they love and woo over seeing their favorite social media personality in person, they should also know to conduct themselves at a gathering of high prestige, such as college competitions.
Sports journalist Josh Furlong, who was covering the competition, has reported that the LSU team bus had to be escorted by police for their safety. The team ran into a group of boys, and the cops had to be stationed to avoid running into them.
The LSU vs Utah gymnastic meet might have ended negatively with this incident. However, fans and other followers of Livvy are confident that such incidents would not repeat following Dunne’s request to her fans.
