Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens has been the recipient of online hate since his interview with ‘The Pivot Podcast’ where he spoke about his relationship with Simone Biles. Fans could not let go of his comments about him being the ‘catch’ in their relationship.

The online saga has spiraled out of control since the interview was released. Former NFL player and podcast host Ryan Clark jumped in to defend the couple questioning “why aren’t you” happy when the duo is. He further stated that Biles was right next to Owens during this whole conversation and she only smiled and enjoyed the banter.

Clark said that Owens told the story of how he met with Biles “with so much love” in his eyes and “every time they looked at one another” it was a special moment for them. Despite them not having any issues in their relationship and Biles texting and reaching out to Owens first, the fans took it negatively.

Clark noted how people have “now made it something negative” which sparked the online outcry. He asks the fans to watch the entire interview before jumping into controversy leading to negative influence. He mentioned how Owens’ support of Biles made her who she is today, especially during the 2020 Olympics.

If Simone Biles is happy, why aren’t you? If Jonathan Owens is happy, why do you care how they start or what jokes they make?

Ryan Clark supports Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles’ “unique” love story amidst online backlash

The whole narrative took on an ugly controversial take when Jonathan Owens admitted that he didn’t know who Simone Biles was when he first came across her profile on Raya, the dating app. He further said that it was Biles who reached out first and even “drive about 45 minutes” to reach him.

His comments irked many fans who labeled Owens as “Simone Biles husband”. One even commented, “She is forever the GOAT, your identity will always be her husband.” Clark came in support of the duo and even called their love story “unique” in the way they found each other.

His comments in a particular video clip went viral on social media when the safety was seen talking about how he’s the “catch” and he “didn’t know” who Simone Biles was until they started dating. While Owens admitted he was scared to commit early, meeting Biles changed his views.

Unfortunately, their story turned into controversy targeting the Packers’ safety on social media. Podcast host Ryan Clark questioned why people are bothered about their love story so much when the duo themselves are happy to be with each other. He said that Owens fell in love with Biles the person and not the glorified gymnast.

Just because you feel like he should be worshipping the gymnast Simone Biles, doesn’t mean you can’t respect that he’s in love with the woman Simone Biles.

Clark said that if they are smiling “you should stop frowning” and cease the endless bashing of Owens on social media. Despite the recoil of his story, Biles and Owens are strong together. Owens posted pictures of the couple enjoying each other’s company, captioning “unbothered”. Furthermore, she recently posted on X, “Are y’all done yet?”.

While many have posted negative comments on Owens, there are also several who supported the duo. Despite the turmoil on social media, the couple is enjoying their time together.
