At a special event for girls who do gymnastics, there was a ceremony to give out awards. Every girl got a medal, except for one girl who had a different skin color. She felt happy at first, but then felt sad when she saw her teammates getting medals and getting their pictures taken. Simone Biles took the incident on Twitter and raised a concern over it.

The pictures reveal that an adult gave medals to everyone except for the girl who had a different skin color. This made people think that the adult may have been biased against her because of racism. The pictures have been sent around and caused the reaction they should have received.

The famous athlete, Simone Biles, agrees with that feeling and is upset about what happened. “Witnessing the sharing of this video evoked an overwhelming sense of sadness within me. She said there should be no racism in any sport at all.”It broke my heart to see.”

The actions of the grown-ups responsible for award distribution were subject to criticism by the Gymnastics Ireland federation. The family was quickly contacted by Gymnastics Ireland, who offered their apologies and assurance of a thorough investigation. The individual in control was discovered and admitted that the occurrence was entirely inappropriate, although they stressed that it was unintentional.

They immediately rectified the issue upon understanding it and ensured that the gymnast obtained her medal prior to her departure from the pavilion. “The person in charge apologized in writing to the gymnast and her family.”

After Simone Biles’s tweet, a complaint was raised

The complaint raised concerns about the alleged racist conduct exhibited by one of our officials during the event. When we received the email, we followed our policy and usual practice of looking into complaints. Gymnastics Ireland quickly got in touch with the family to show that they care and to let them know they are looking into the situation.

Simone Biles, the Olympic champion, conveyed her sadness regarding the distressing incident and stated that she reached out to the young girl with a supportive video after being contacted by her parents. After finding the accountable person, we provided them with information regarding the complaint. The individual in charge conceded that the incident was wrong, but emphasized that it was not a deliberate act.

Upon realizing their mistake, the boss promptly made the necessary corrections. Before leaving the playing area, they ensured that the other player was given her medal. Feeling incredibly apologetic for their mistake, the person in authority requested the opportunity to apologize face-to-face to the competitor and her family.

In the beginning, the request was refused. Apologies were extended in written form by the party involved to the competitor as well as her family. Throughout the incident, we have maintained continuous communication with various parties, such as Sport Ireland and the International Gymnastics Federation. We have also talked to various media organizations whenever they have reached out to us about this issue.
