At the recent World Gymnastics Championships, she surpassed all previous gymnasts to become the most successful gymnast in history.

The 26-year-old stated that the world championships held in Antwerp, Belgium, hold great significance to her, as she showcased a compilation of pictures capturing her time at the championships. Simone Biles received the first recognition of having a skill named after her in this particular place. After a decade had passed, she proudly received the distinction of having her fifth skill named too.

She continued, “I’m speechless. I’m honored,” expressing her elation. A new skill was named after the gymnast, recognizing her expertise in the sport. “Biles II” will be the designated name for the Yurchenko double pike, performed by Biles at the championships. According to the Gymnastics National Governing Board, it will be done as a tribute to her groundbreaking achievement.

On October 6, she triumphantly received a gold medal for her outstanding performance in the Women’s All-Round final held in Antwerp.

ABC News reported that a skill can only be named after a gymnast if it is successfully executed in an international competition. Biles’ other skills include performing on the floor, leaping from a platform, and maintaining balance on a slim beam.

With a cumulative count of 34 medals, Simone Biles holds the record for the most medals ever achieved in gymnastics. In Antwerp’s recent championships, she clinched her sixth gold medal in the all-around championship, solidifying her dominance in the sport. During the 1990s, the athlete’s score matched that of Belarusian gymnast Vitaly Scherbo.
