After the frenzy involving Olivia Dunne fans caused a massive rush at Utah, the next event was at Kentucky. Last time, the gathering of scores of fans caused the occurrence of hooliganism against Utah gymnasts. However, the LSU Tigers’ next meet at Kentucky was quite a decent one compared to the last.
As expected, dozens of male spectators gathered in the Lexington Stadium to get a glimpse of Livvy. It would have turned out to be a wild frenzy only if Livvy hadn’t posted her ardent request to fans last week. After the fiasco at Salt Lake City, the venues’ security, especially LSU gymnasts and Olivia Dunne, has been over-tightened.
However, what was shocking was that a predominantly male crowd, mainly teenage boys, gathered to see Livvy. The exciting part here is Olivia was not part of the starting lineup for LSU due to an injury. So, these fans had come just to get a glimpse of their superstar, even if she was not performing on that day!

Olivia Dunne fans pour in even when she is not performing
As the LSU women’s gymnastics team went for their next stop in Kentucky, young fans, especially men, poured in to watch Olivia Dunne. Even though Olivia Dunne was not even performing that Friday night at Lexington stadium. Olivia Dunne benefitted the most when NCAA allowed athletes to monetize their image rights. In this way, she has a massive fan following of 7 million on TikTok and 2 million on Instagram.
The fans were seen supporting Dunne from their seats in the stands. They were carrying several banners and posters supporting their favorite social media icon. These male fans filled in the stands not just to support the LSU team but to be in the mere presence of Livvy.
Livvy did spare some time to sign autographs for her fans. However, she and her teammates were quickly escorted out of the venue, where young fans could be seen crowding and chanting her name. The security for the team was increased right after the cases of hooliganism at the LSU vs Utah match.
For the previous incident, several big names drew condemnation for the behavior of the fans. Former US national team athlete Samantha Peszek was ’embarrassed’ by the fans’ disturbing and scary behavior. She expressed her sentiments through her tweets.
Furthermore, American sports commentator Kathy Johnson Clarke has also posted about this incident, calling it indecent and a lesson for the young boys.
Josh Furlong had reported that the security had been tightened near the LSU team bus. When the teammates came in contact with a large crowd of fans, Cops had to be deployed for extra security measures for the team.
Jay Clarke, the head coach of the LSU team had significantly emphasized on the security measures last week. He said, “We will be working to create a perimeter around where we get on the bus, where we load. I take our team’s safety and security very seriously.”
Indeed, the experience in Kentucky was fair enough for the LSU gymnastics team. However, the question of fans crowding and behaving uncouthly still lingers around.
