Tokyo Olympics: Nora Gjakova secures the third Medal for Kosovo at the Olympics Games, bags Gold Medal in the -57 Kg category of Judo

The Bronze Medalist of the 2021 World Championship, Nora Gjakova rewrites the history at the Tokyo Olympics Games 2020 by winning the third medal for Kosovo at the Olympic Games. She bagged a Gold Medal in the -57 Kg category of women’s Judo and bring the third Gold Medal in Judo for Kosovo at the Olympics Games.
Her road to the final hasn’t been that easy, she defeated Sanne Verhagen from the Netherlands in her very first fight, and then Gjakova faced Kaja Kajzer from Slovenia in the Quarterfinal fight. Kajzer presented her with a tough challenge but she managed to win the fight in the end.
In the semi-final fight, she faced, Tsukasa Yoshida from Japan that was one of the biggest contenders for the Gold Medal in her weight class. But Nora Gjakova turned the odds in her favor and defeated Yoshida on her home turf to advance to the semi-finals.
Gjakova faced Sarah Leonie Cysique from France in the finals who has been in tremendous form and defeated many big names in the weight class. Nora Gjakova defeated her after a tough fight and became the third Olympic Medalist for Kosovo at the Olympic Games.
Sarah Leonie Cysique fell short in front of Nora Gjakova but outplayed many others
The French judoka, Sarah Leonie Cysique produced a major upset in the -57 kg category of the women’s judo as she reached the finals by defeating some of the big names in the division. She defeated the current world champion, Jessica Klimkait in the semi-finals and reached the finals.
Although she, fell short in front of Nora Gjakova but she wrote her names in the history books by winning Silver Medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Jessica Klimkait and Tsukasa Yoshida won Bronze Medals in the -57 kg category
The current world champion of the -57 kg category, Jessica Klimkait managed to win a Bronze Medal in the -57 Kg category by defeating Kaja Kajzer in the fight for Bronze Medal.
Japanese Judoka, Tsukasa Yoshida also won Bronze Medal by defeating Eteri Liparteliani from Georgia in the fight for Bronze Medal.
