South Korea had an almighty scare in their opening match against Israel, who were making their debut in the Olympics. Though they won 6-5, the team needs to up its game to beat the USA. Their match against Israel on Thursday, July 29 went right down to the wire.

The match was tied 5-5 at the bottom of the ninth inning. In the extra inning, South Korea scored a single off a pitch thrown by Jeremy Bleich. The USA are in decent form and the Asian team needs to be on top of its game to win their upcoming encounter on Saturday.

While South Korea survived in a thriller against Israel, the USA decimated the same opponent by 8-1. On Friday, the USA showed how big a force they are in the tournament. The game turned out to be a completely one-sided affair as Israel were beaten black and blue.

The first inning ended on 0-0, but from there on it was one-way traffic towards the USA. Tyler’s Austin’s home run put the team in a 3-0 lead. The American unit scored two more runs in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings to garner a win.
