Canadian pole-vaulter Alysha Newman made ripples after going on to win the Olympic bronze medal, as she cleared 4.85 meters in an oscillating encounter, becoming the first Canadian woman to claim a podium finish in the event. However, that wasn’t the last of the ripples that she would make as she celebrated the triumph with a twerk.

Soon after landing the medal in the Paris Olympics, she went on to celebrate her historic feat with a twerk that instantly divided the world into two factions, some of them offended by the celebrations while the other half was quick to come to her defences, stating that after all the hard work for the last four years, she deserved to celebrate in whatever way she wanted to.

This was her third appearance in the Summer Games and Paris turned out to be lucky for her as she managed to shatter a 112-year drought to lift Canada’s first medal in the discipline. Alysha Newman who has been active on her social media alongside on OnlyFans was certain with the fact that if she did win the medal, there was a wild celebration coming up as she got into the raptures even before she hit the mat.

Newman isn’t the only Olympics athlete to be a part of the OnlyFans subscription. There have been bigger names on the list that feature the likes of British diver, Jack Laugher who is also a part of the 2024 Paris Games, Noah Williams, Daniel Goodfellow and Matty Lee. Former Olympian, Elise Christie said that OnlyFans saved her when she lost almost everything after her retirement.

The phenomenal journey of Alysha Newman

It was a battle to savour as Nina Kennedy of Australia took gold by making a leap of 4.90 meters while Katie Moon of the USA clinched silver with 4.85 in her final attempt. Alysha kept a close tab on affairs before leaping 4.85 as well to settle for bronze. Kennedy and Moon are stalwarts of the sport and have formerly shared a gold medal at the 2023 World Championship.

Newman found her stride in the 2018 Commonwealth Games where she was the champion in pole-vaulting. Even in the 2014 edition of the Commonwealth Games, she landed a bronze with a vault of 3.80 meters.

In her first go at the Olympics, a vault of 4.45 m saw her crash even before the finals. In the 2021 Tokyo games, she couldn’t make it to the main stage of the contest as she was already battling health hiccups to be a part of the Summer Games. Redeeming herself, she finally made the podium in 2024 and lit up the audience with her controversial celebration.
