Ons Jabeur is ready to help Emma Raducanu if she needs a coach. The Tunisian said she has a good relationship with Raducanu, joking that she can help her with some advice.
Raducanu is not a part of the Roland Garros, withdrawing herself from the qualifiers after tournament organizers didn’t hand her the wild card for the main draw. She will be playing in the WTA 250 tournament in Nottingham next month following a 9-7 win-loss record this season. If the Brit wants another member in her team, Jabeur has made herself available.
I would say Emma Raducanu. I have a good relationship with her and I think I can help a little bit with some advice. I mean, I would not be the main coach, I would be the consultant, I guess, a new job. Emma, if you’re hiring, I’m available.Ons Jabeur told Eurosport (via Tennis 365)
Jabeur, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up, went past Sachia Vickery in the first round of Roland Garros and is set to play Camila Osorio, who defeated Anhelina Kalinina in three sets.
Emma Raducanu is working with coach Nick Cavaday
During the Stuttgart Open last month, Emma Raducanu talked about her relationship with childhood coach Nick Cavaday, whom she hired ahead of the Australian Open. The 21-year-old said she fully trusts Cavaday as she knew him before she hogged the limelight by winning the 2021 US Open as an 18-year-old.
Just having people who I knew before I got famous, or I got any of the big whatever [was] coming my way, it was just good to have someone who had known me before that.Emma Raducanu said
Since that US Open crown, the Brit has failed to reach the third round of any Grand Slam events and even hasn’t won a title. That US Open crown is her only title in singles so far. She underwent three surgeries last year and has managed to keep injuries at bay so far this year.
During a recent interview, Raducanu said she is confident of winning Wimbledon one day. Her best result at SW19 came in 2021 when she advanced to the Round of 16 as a wild card.
A few days ago, she said the reason why she opted out of the French Open is because she is focusing on her home Grand Slam event. In the other two Grand Slam events in Australia and France, Raducanu made it to the second round.
