Ryan Garcia‘s fight against Gervonta Davis was the biggest PPV event in 2023. Now, KingRy is set to have another huge PPV event with his amateur rival Devin Haney. The fight itself will be exhilarating, but Garcia’s theatrics across the buildup have added the extra intrigue. Furthermore, Oscar De La Hoya claimed the event would be a Top 10 PPV event similar to the fights of Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor, and Manny Pacquiao

One of the biggest PPV events was, of course, ‘the Fight of the Century’ between Mayweather and Pacquiao back in 2015. The fight garnered $4.4 million in PPV buys and generated over $600 million. Similarly, the Mayweather fight against McGregor sold $4.3 million in PPV and also generated over $600 million.

During an interview with MMA Hour, De La Hoya revealed this prediction for the April 20 fight. He also spoke about how Golden Boy Promotions has bounced back and been able to create huge fights. The promoter also predicted that the seats at the venue would be sold out by April 20. However, there have been several rumors about the tickets not selling well

De La Hoya also spoke about how KingRy has done a spectacular job promoting this fight. He revealed that he was in touch with him through his erratic behavior on social media.

De La Hoya compares Garcia’s antics with Floyd Mayweather

During the interview, Ariel Helwani, brought up Garcia’s concerning behavior. De La Hoya stated that he does not know all the details of everything Garcia talked about. Yet, he spoke about how the same antics have been able to get under Devin Haney‘s. skin.

The promoter brought up the recent incident where Haney pushed KingRy during their faceoff at the Empire State Building. De La Hoya remarked that he had never seen The Dream behave in this manner. Therefore, he likened Garcia’s ability to get under his opponent’s skin to that of Mayweather’s.

Furthermore, De La Hoya believes that Ryan Garcia knows what he is doing and is achieving it successfully. In addition, he is confident that his fighter will win the fight and believes he is in marvelous shape. The promoter also predicted that the fight would end via a knockout.
