The eternal feud between UFC CEO Dana White and boxing’s Oscar De La Hoya found a new collateral. UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan now enters the smacking middle of the situation. “Golden Boy” has challenged Rogan to a very unlikely scenario.

Oscar De La Hoya remains one of the controversial boxing promoter personalities with a laundry list of quirks. Golden Boy has also beefed with UFC CEO Dana White several times now. On a recent podcast episode (‘JRE’ ##2280), Joe Rogan discussed how De La Hoya was ‘off the rail’ about Terence Crawford. Now, he gets a reply for it.

Did he really ask why I’m commenting on Terence Crawford? The rankings have him at No.1 at 154 pounds when he doesn’t even fight at that weight anymore. I’m commenting because my fighter Vergil Ortiz beat Israil Madrimov last Saturday much easier than Crawford did. I’m also commenting because it’s my fu*king job to be a promoter and promote my fighters… Also Joe, I’m off the rails, really?

In a now-defunct interview with Fight Hype (YouTube), De La Hoya made viral predictions. “Bud” Crawford is part of super-middleweight Canelo Alvarez’s four-fight Saudi GEA deal for Riyadh Season. Oscar De La Hoya said “Bud” was too good on a technical skill-to-skill level, but Alvarez would run through based on sheer power and size difference.

Other boxing analysts and even promoter Bob Arum had said as much. Even Gervonta Davis is scuffling with Crawford, looking beefy but lacking power at 154 yet having a ranking. However, Joe Rogan billed De La Hoya was off the mark, and it’d be really off the counter to dismiss someone like Crawford. Hence, he now gets stern warnings from the promoter to keep the nose where it’s at in the MMA lane.

Joe Rogan and De La Hoya have had one-off stints commenting on each other. During JRE MMA #134 with UFC champ Belal Muhammad, he even dissed the ‘liver king’ body fat-riddled ‘fake abs’ on the boxer. De La Hoya’s enmity with Dana White, though, stretches on bigger incidents.

Oscar De La Hoya has often gone the route of boxing pays better than MMA (i.e., better than UFC and Dana White). The UFC bossman also caught flak on the same issue when he was tagged for the new Saudi GEA boxing league. Golden Boy now links his two enemies together and calls for a podcast appearance.

Joe, it must be in your contract to say ill on me and not say one nice word about me… Bro, stop being petty. You refuse to put me on my podcast when the majority of your content is MMA or boxing-centred. I mean, I get it daddy Dana will not let you have me on the podcast… Let me propose something – this will be the highest-rated show you’ll ever do… Have me and your daddy Dana on the podcast together. You can moderate the podcast.

Oscar De La Hoya further said

De La Hoya and White have feuded bitterly for more than a decade. While a JRE podcast featuring the three would make for great viewing, it’s near improbable to reach. UFC and White do not do crossovers with rivals; just ask PFL about that.
