Oscar De La Hoya was one of the top boxers in the world once. However, his antics outside the ring have hampered his reputation on several occasions. In one such instance, some of De La Hoya’s private pictures of wearing fishnet lingerie got leaked to the public.

During an interview, Shannon Sharpe delved into a discussion with De La Hoya regarding the release of scandalous photos of him back in 2007.

I bet if I asked 30 people here, 20 of them say, ’Ya, I wore something from a woman in closed doors’. That’s what happens, mine just came out publicly.

Per De La Hoya, he is glad that he let out everything in front of the public rather than hiding it. In a jolly mood, the Golden Boy boss also states that it’s been 15 years of that, and it will eventually fade away. Interestingly, on several occasions, prominent boxers of the world mocked De La Hoya for that sole incident.

However, De La Hoya ignored all such noise and became focused on the growth of his promotion company. Golden Boy Promotions currently ranks as one of the top promoters in the world of professional boxing. The Golden Boy stable was home to boxers like Canelo Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather.

Currently, Ryan Garcia and William Zepeda stand out as two of the top boxers representing De La Hoya’s company. Now, coming back to one of the darkest chapters of the boxing promoter’s life. De La Hoya once revealed that he had to pay millions just to cover up for his fishnet lingerie incident.

De La Hoya has battled several personal problems over his career and retirement from boxing. He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman. Per De La Hoya, he said he was high on booze and cocaine when the racy photos were snapped. Interestingly, following that, the Golden Boy boss launched a campaign to discredit the wild images. Siberian knockout Milana Dravnel filed a federal lawsuit against him after seeing that. She claimed his handlers duped her into agreeing that the photos were manipulated.

Later they settled the lawsuit out of court and both sides clammed up, citing a confidentiality agreement. However, as reported by The Post, De La Hoya shelled out a whopping $20 million to Dravnel to go away. The deal also called for her to give back the heels, lingerie, and fishnets that she kept after their kinky photo session. That’s how one of the darkest chapters of Oscar De La Hoya’s life ended.
