Micah Parsons came extremely close to losing on his return to the Dallas Cowboys. The All-Pro pass rusher saved the Green Bay Packers by sacking Dak Prescott.

Parsons was a spectator for major parts of the Sunday night fixture. He recorded just one assisted tackle in the regulation time as Prescott and Jordan Love played out a 37-37 draw at the end of the regulation time.

Kickers Brandon Aubrey and Brandon McManus traded field goals to increase the scores by three points. This presented the Cowboys with a great opportunity to deal the final blow.

Prescott took the snap on second and faked a pass to running back Javonte Williams. The veteran shot caller, who suffered a hamstring injury last year, took off with the ball toward the Packers’ end zone.

However, Parsons tackled Prescott from behind and saved a certain touchdown.

The game ended in a 40-40 tie. As per NBC research, the Packers-Cowboys game produced the second-highest score in an overtime tie ever.

Dak Prescott had a hard time believing that Parsons’ tackle was counted as a sack

After the final whistle, NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark asked Prescott to describe how he felt playing against his former teammate, Micah Parsons.

It was fun. As I told y’all, it’s a great competition, a friendly competition. No words were even spoken. I don’t think [Micah] got me. I don’t think he sacked me. Got me one from behind right there in overtime, but I got past the line [of scrimmage].

Stark told the Pro Bowl shot caller that Parsons was credited with the sack.

No way!!! That’s alright. That’s alright. … He can have it.

Parsons finished with 3 tackles, 3 quarterback hits, 8 pressures, a 34.5% pass rush win rate, and one sack.

Prescott threw 31 completions from 40 attempts for 319 yards and 3 passing touchdowns, along with a rushing touchdown.

Both sets of fans were already on the edge of their seats, wondering what to expect from the Arlington tie. Parsons raised everyone’s expectations after vowing to sack Prescott any time during the game.

Prescott initially refrained from discussing the matter until the media managed to squeeze out a reply.

He still can’t bring me down… But he’s got five guys up front, plus tight ends and running backs, that he’s got to get through. Then we’ll worry about if he can get to me.

Parsons was traded to the Packers following a long standoff regarding his extension. He signed a $188 million deal, becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback ever.

Since then, the 26-year-old has accumulated 8 total tackles and 2.5 sacks. In the meantime, Prescott leads the league with 1119 passing yards from 121 completions for 6 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 6 sacks, 1 fumble, and a quarterback rating of 95.4.

In week five, the Cowboys travel to the Big Apple to play the New York Jets, while the Packers will enjoy the bye week. They are to host the Cincinnati Bengals next.
