With Jordan Love entering his final season with the Green Bay Packers, everyone is eager to know about his contract extension, especially after this offseason when the quarterback market saw many surprising lucrative deals.

But the Packers quarterback knows better than to give in to the questions by the media before the franchise’s words on his contract. That’s why when Lily Zhao of WITI, a Milwaukee Fox affiliate, asked the quarterback about it, he dodged the question.

Brian Gutekunst says he hopes to have a contract extension done with you before the start of camp. Do you wish to say anything?
Lily Zhao asked

Nope,” replied Love before the reporter could even finish her question.

Love then gave a big smile when a reporter said, “News to come,” reflecting the contract talks have been going well so far, just as ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler highlighted.

Considering the season the young quarterback had in 2023, where he led the team to a playoff victory in his debut season as starting–it appears that the Packers would surely reward him with a lucrative deal as they did with his predecessors.

He posted 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns and 11 interventions along with a passer rating of 64.2% and 247 rushing yards and five touchdowns in his first-starter season. With such impressive stats, Love proved that the Packers once again did not miss the mark while drafting their starting quarterback.

Jordan Love’s contract talks with Packers progressing positively

In a recent appearance with SportsCenter, Fowler reported that the contract talks between Love and the Packers have been going positive, but a deal hasn’t been made just yet. He also shared that the negotiations will continue alongside the training camp, starting July 22.

Last season, instead of picking the fifth-year option from his rookie deal, the Niners signed Love in a one-year extension giving him a $13.5 million guaranteed and stretch up to $22.5 million.

Besides his accolades, if there’s one thing that Green Bay will likely be concerned about is his body of work. He didn’t play well for the first half of the season and had a passer rating of 58.7 percent.
