Paddy Pimblett doesn’t waste any opportunity to create hype around his name as the next big thing in the UFC. The Scouser has called out some of the biggest names in the lightweight division, including the legendary Dustin Poirier. However, he got rejected by the former title contender, which has added a new chapter to the rivalry.
Poirier, who was already on the fence about retirement, is eager to participate in one last dance against a worthy opponent. He shut down Pimblett’s callout citing, it’s a legends-only fight. In response, Pimblett addressed the situation and made a sneaky remark on the ‘Diamond.’

Pimblett had also received support from UFC legend Nate Diaz to fight Poirier. The Stockton native who also has a bone to pick with DP hilariously accused the fighter of ducking. On the other hand, Poirier was backed by his former opponent Michael Chandler in the beef who mocked ‘Baddy’ with a humiliating response.

Chandler is currently scheduled to fight Pimblett in the five-round co-main event of UFC 312. After waiting for the Conor McGregor super fight for two years, the former Bellator champion had to settle for Pimblett. However, the hype around the clash is massive and it’s a great opportunity for the Brit to jump the rankings.

Paddy Pimblett has successfully gained a massive fan following in a very short UFC career. The fighter has an eccentric personality which is backed by his skills inside the octagon. He has defeated various UFC veterans, including Tony Ferguson and Bobby Green, in order to prove his mettle
Pimblett is eager to fight for the lightweight championship and beating someone like Michael Chandler would be a great push. On the other hand, Chandler’s last fight against Charles Oliveira was a disaster. UFC veteran Michael Bisping recently talked about the fight and shared his opinions.
I just think it’s a really really tricky one for Paddy Pimblett in terms of a stylistic match up and for Chandler… he’s gonna make the most of these moments. So, as I said, this is a pivotal match up on a ridiculous card from top to bottom and it really is time to either put up or shut up.

Chandler, as expected, is looking forward to putting on a show for the crowd at UFC 314. He plans to use all his experience and cardio to systematically dismantle the rising prospect. The American fighter has promised an early finish, and fans are hyped. It will be interesting how the rivalry will shape up in the upcoming weeks.
