Sean O’Malley’s path from a UFC prospect to the UFC bantamweight champion seemed less challenging, according to Paddy Pimblett. The Scouser is a rising star in the UFC lightweight division and maintains an undefeated record in the promotion. Eager to achieve UFC Gold quickly, Pimblett made an interesting request to UFC CEO, Dana White.
Paddy Pimblett’s recent rise in the promotion at the promotion is quite commendable. His most recent victory came against King Green at UFC 304. Following that win, Pimblett’s zeal to become the lightweight champ intensified. Recently, in an interview with Action Network, the Scouser discussed his perfect route to the UFC gold. In doing so, he mentioned Sean O’Malley’s sudden leaps in the bantamweight division before becoming the champ.
The perfect route to the title would have been (Renato) Moicano and then Charles Oliveira. He's like rank #2. That's what (Sean) O'Malley did. O'Malley went from like rank #11 to rank #1 or somethingPaddy Pimblett via Action Network
Pimblett also mentioned about fighting Dan Hooker as well who recently thrashed Mateusz Gamrot to climb the division ranking. However, in doing so, ‘The Baddy’ also urged the UFC and Dana White to give him the O’Malley treatment. Interestingly, several UFC fighters even called out the promotion for helping Suga to become the bantamweight champ.
As for the UFC CEO, he always sang high praises of the Scousers. As such, White even compared Pimblett’s incredible rise to the young Conor McGregor. Now, as for the relationship between Pimblett and O’Malley, Suga has often shown concern for the Scouser when it came to analyzing his fights. Meanwhile, the undefeated lightweight has also discussed the bantamweight champion’s fights on several occasions.

The UFC Noche card has garnered quite an attention from several UFC fighters, including Paddy Pimblett.
Interestingly, O’Malley is an excellent striker who likes stand-up exchanges, whereas Dvalishvili loves controlling his fights through his grappling prowess. Considering these key factors about both fighters, Pimblett provided a detailed assessment of how O’Malley and Dvalishvili should approach the fight.
Grappler vs. striker isn't it? It's whoever can implement the game plan... If Sean (O'Malley) can use his length against the wrestling because we all know Merab's game plan is to come in, shoot him, take him down, maul on the ground and just suffocate him. But, Sean needs to keep the range...Paddy Pimblett via Action Network
