The San Diego Padres placed Luis Arraez on the 7-day concussion injured list on Monday. This came after the 3-time All-Star suffered a nasty collision during the game against the Houston Astros on Sunday at the Daikin Park.
After dropping two games against the Astros, the Padres took to the field on Sunday, trying to avoid getting swept away from home. However, the visitors suffered a massive blow early on when Arraez got caught in a horrific crash.
After playing a bunt against Framber Valdez in the first inning, Arraez would race down to first base. As he reached the base, he collided with Mauricio Dubon, who tried to cover the base and tag him out.
The two players accidentally collided with each other and fell to the ground. While Dubon was able to get back quickly, Arraez stayed down the ground, leaving the fans inside the ballpark concerned.
As the 3-time batting champion lay prone on the ground, the medical team tried to stabilize him. He was later carried off the field on a stretcher and stayed behind in Houston while his teammates took off to Detroit to get ready to face the Detroit Tigers.
The Padres would later issue a statement and provide some positive health update regarding him. On Monday, the team placed Luis Arraez on the 7-day concussion injured list. The 28-year-old is reported to undergo more tests when he returns to San Diego.

In a post on Instagram, Arraez thanked the medical staff of both the Padres and Astros for their assistance. Before that he admitted that he was fine and there was nothing to worry about.
Thankfully, there is nothing to worry about. I’m currently resting and plan to rejoin the team this Monday. I truly appreciate all your prayers and kind messages. I want to thank the medical and paramedic staff of both the Padres and the Astros, as well as those who took care of me at the hospital. Most importantly, I thank God for His protection—I’m doing well now.
