Alex Pereira has established himself as one of the most hard-hitting fighters on the UFC roster. The Brazilian has the touch of death and can knock out anyone with ease. When someone like him spars with a normal person the results can be easily predicted.

Pereira recently collaborated with UFC veteran Rampage Jackson and the creative director of the JAXXON Podcast, Bear Degidio. The Brazilian also participated in a casual spar with Degidio, which didn’t go well for the podcaster. In a recent episode, he shared how it felt to go against Pereira inside the ring.

I can’t get close to him. Bro, he barely touched me and he cracked my back. It felt like a claw went through my spine and ripped and he was just stuck inside of me. He hit me so hard.

The entire incident left UFC legends Rampage Jackson and TJ Dillashaw laughing out loud. Pereira has a brute power which has helped him go through tough opponents from time to time. According to the fighter, his tough childhood and working in a tire shop enabled him to develop such amazing power. However, it isn’t the only aspect of the Brazilian’s game plan.

‘Poatan’ has an incredible fight IQ and he uses his leg kicks to damage and create doubts on his opponents consistently. With the variety of striking options, the UFC superstar finds the best way to knock out his rivals in a limited time. Last year was a huge success for the light heavyweight champion as he also received the ‘Fighter of the Year’ award.

Alex Pereira won’t mind sharing the ‘Fighter of the Year’ award with the UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria after an incredible 2024 season. Pereira was the most active champion and defended his belt three times over seven months. He knocked out all his opponents, making new standards for what it takes to be a champion.

On the other hand, Ilia Topuria beat Alexander Volkanovski to win the featherweight title. He then defended his belt against the legendary Max Holloway and was able to knock out the ‘Blessed.’ The level of competition that the Georgian-Spaniard fought was insane, which put him on similar footing with Pereira. The Brazilian superstar shared his thoughts about it.

I will share this [award] with him because he’s also done great things and he’s a great guy who brings a lot of joy to people, so he deserves the award too… We both are the best fighters of 2024.

Topuria, on the other hand, never cared about the award and was more hyped about his achievements. The featherweight champion is rumored to defend his title in a rematch against Volkanovski next. The hype around this fight is massive and fans are expecting a strong finish from the dominating champion.
