Pandya brothers suffer tragedy; their father passes away following a cardiac arrest

India all-rounders Hardik and Krunal Pandya’s father, Himanshu Pandya died on Saturday due to a cardiac arrest. Himanshu suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday morning and could not be revived.

Krunal Pandya was playing for Baroda in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and immediately left the team’s bio-bubble after hearing the news of his father passing away. 

“Yes, Krunal Pandya has left the bubble. It is a personal tragedy, Baroda Cricket Association mourns this loss of Hardik and Krunal,” Baroda Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi told ANI.

Hardik Pandya was not on any cricketing commitments currently. He was training himself for the upcoming white-ball series against England. 

The brothers have often acknowledged their parents’ contribution in the duo’s cricketing career. According to Hardik Pandya, his father Himanshu used to run a small car finance business in Surat but he shut it down and moved to Vadodara to help his sons get better access to training facilities.

To ensure proper training for their children, Himanshu enrolled both Hardik and Krunal in former India wicketkeeper Kiran More’s cricket academy in Vadodara from where the two brothers practised and rose to glory.
