Bryce Young, second-year quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, should be back in action despite the benching. His benching following the Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers was more of a minor setback than a full-blown dismissal.

Though Andy Dalton is good enough to start this week against the Raiders, it seems the franchise’s main man appears to be well on his way back. As per multiple sources, Young will be largely the Panthers’ quarterback going forward.

Per ESPN’s David Newton, the Panthers will correct their offensive issues and bring back Young to the center “in time”. Earlier, Head coach Dave Canales had explained the decision to reporters on Monday. Canales said that he views the move as a key step in both immediate performance gain and long-term outcomes.

This is something I felt like gives us our chance to take a step forward in our play style and to be able to compete this week against a really good Raiders team.
Dave Canales said on Bryce Young situation

He also said that he has no intentions to trade Bryce Young. However, despite this, there have been multiple inquiries regarding the same as per NFL insider Adam Schefter. A move after barely 18 games would not be an ideal situation for the Panthers who went to lengths to draft the player.

Furthermore, Young has also taken this positively. He respects the management’s decision although it surprised him. He admitted that his play wasn’t the best either and vowed to come back better after working with the flaws.

Steve Young believes Bryce Young can revive his career

From one Young to another, HOF quarterback Steve Young added hope to Bryce Young stating his example. He said that he believes that Bryce will have the chance to prove that he is deserving of being the first overall pick in the 2023 draft whether it’s with the Carolina Panthers or somewhere else.

He's got the talent, he's got the ability. Go make it happen. But if you're going to start focusing on all the things that aren't perfect, you're not going to get there.
Steve Young told ESPN

A 1984 draftee out of Brigham Young, Steve Young was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and suffered two bad seasons with a combined 3-16 record. During those two years, he committed 24 interceptions while throwing only 11 touchdown passes. The Buccaneers shipped Steve off to San Francisco before his third season. He was quickly labeled a bust before he found his going and became a star worthy of a HOF spot.

Similarly, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young is holding a record currently at 2-16, with 10 touchdown throws and 13 interceptions. Bryce has come under harsh criticism, and people are also calling him a bust. Nevertheless, It is to be noted that he is playing for a franchise that has been going through six successive losing seasons.
