In sports, there are two injuries that athletes dread hearing about. Those are ACL and Achilles injuries. These injuries require a long time away from the game and the rehab process is painfully slow as is. Imagine the horror on rookie Jonathon Brooks‘ face when he found out that he had re-injured the same knee on which he had previously torn his ACL a little over a year ago.
Jonathon Brooks had just embarked on his NFL journey with him two games into playing after 13 months of recovery. However, he went down on a non-contact injury in the Carolina Panthers Week 14 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, with 2 minutes left to go in the first quarter.
As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the running back has torn the ACL in his right knee once again, which means he will be out for the remainder of the season and will need to go through the recovery process yet again. The injury came right as Brooks was attempting to cut on the play and the moment he went down; he knew.

The running back was then carted off and listed as questionable to return. His injury comes a month after the Panthers activated him from the reserve & non-football-injury list. The team drafted Brooks in the second round of the 2024 draft with the 46th overall pick.
He was a star during his time with the Texas Longhorns. He had 1,479 rushing yards on 238 attempts, and 16 rushing touchdowns in his three-season stint with the team. He averaged 6.2 yards per touch, which is impressive. After his second injury in this span, fans took to X and expressed their concern over his health.

Tough break for Brooks. Twice in such a short span—seriously bad luck.

It is unfortunate to hear about Brooks re-injuring his ACL. Despite this setback, the hope is for him to make a comeback in due time.
The Carolina Panthers are out of playoff contention, which means the running back will not be missing a lot of important games. He has the rest of this season and the entire off-season to get back on his feet.
