After missing many tournaments due to various injuries that plagued him in the last few years, Andy Murray is back in action this year. However, he is not having the kind of season that he would have hoped for. He started his season by participating in the Australian Open but exited the tournament after a disappointing loss in the second round.

The 35-year-old then participated in the Qatar Open and Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. He crashed out after losing in the second rounds of both tournaments. He then had consecutive second-round losses in both the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open. His best performance came this season when he reached the final of the Stuttgart Open but lost to Matteo Berrettini in the final match.

He started well at Wimbledon but lost to the American John Isner in the second round. He participated in the US Open but again lost to Matteo Berrettini, this time in the third round. The three-time Grand Slam champion was then invited to play in the 2022 Laver Cup where he was part of Bjorn Borg-led Team Europe.

Gilles Simon has been part of the ATP tour for a very long time. He started his season by participating in the Australian Open but had to exit after losing the first-round match. He then played at both the Miami Open and Serbia Open. He played well in the French Open but lost to Marin Čilić in the third round.

He featured in both the Wimbledon and the US Open but could not impress anyone. The 37-year-old was next seen in the Moselle Open but here too, he could not advance into the third round.

Murray vs Simon : Prediction

Andy Murray is expected to win this match on the back of his vast experience. He may have lost his glorious touch but he still has enough in him to win this match. Gilles Simon is looking to make this season count. He too has some great skills and abilities which can shock the London Olympics 2012 gold medallist. However, it is expected that the British would be able to prevail over the French.
