Ugo Humbert has advanced to his maiden ATP Masters 1000 final but he has a daunting task in front of him. The Frenchman is scheduled to lock horns with third seed Alexander Zverev in the final of the Paris Masters on Sunday (November 3).
Zverev, who is chasing his second ATP Masters 1000 title of the season, has also drawn level with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner for most wins this season (65) after his victory over former Paris Masters champion Holger Rune in the semifinals.

Alexander Zverev went past former Paris Masters champion Holger Rune in the semifinals to set up the clash with Ugo Humbert. The German also defeated Tallon Griekspoor, Arthur Fils, and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the previous rounds.
Zverev is searching for his second title of the season after his win at the Italian Open where he defeated Nicolas Jarry. He is also chasing his seventh Masters 1000 title of his career.
Ugo Humbert, on the other hand, is a seven-time tour-level winner. He became the fifth Frenchman to reach the Paris Masters final. The win over Karen Khachanov in the semifinals was also his 13th consecutive win on the indoor hard courts of France as he previously lifted the titles in Metz and Marseille.
Prior to beating Khachanov, Humbert also went past Brandon Nakashima, Marcos Giron, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jordan Thompson. Humbert has won two titles this season, in Open 13 and the Dubai Tennis Championships earlier this season.

Alexander Zverev has met Ugo Humbert twice on the ATP Tour and is 1-1 against the 26-year-old. Their first encounter was in the fourth round of the 2021 Halle Open, which Humbert won. In their last meeting, in the third round of the 2023 Paris Masters, it was Zverev who emerged as the winner.
Although Humbert will have the French crowd’s support, it would not be easy for him to beat Zverev. The 27-year-old, the more experienced of the two, and has played many matches in a tense atmosphere, will walk onto the court as the favorite to win.
