Farouk took to social media and said that Salah has agreed to renew his deal with the Reds and congratulated him for the same. His post came minutes after the winger scored a brilliant brace to save his side from defeat against Newcastle United.

Against Newcastle, Salah made history by breaking Wayne Rooney‘s record as the player with the most goals and assists. He currently earns £350,000 per week and wants his renewed package to reflect his contribution to the side — as their best player at the moment.

Salah has scored 13 goals and made eight assists in the Premier League this season. His record in the UEFA Champions League is equally impressive, having netted once and picked up four assists. Besides Salah, both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also in the final months of their contract.
