Parthiv Patel claims Moeen Ali to be the game-changer for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021

Parthiv Patel praised Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Moeen Ali, calling him the “main game-changer” for his squad during the IPL 2021.
In six innings for CSK in the IPL 2021, Moeen Ali scored 206 runs at a respectable average of 34.33 and an excellent strike rate of 157.25. He also took five vital wickets and bowled at a brilliant economy rate of 6.16.
“I think Moeen Ali was the main game-changer for CSK. He can open, he can bat at No. 3, which he did really well. He carried on the momentum that Faf and Ruturaj gave. It was good to see him performing so well,” said Parthiv Patel on Star Sports.
When the IPL 2021 season was suspended amid Covid-19 concerns within the bio-bubble, CSK were in the second position with 10 points just behind Delhi Capitals, who were in first place with 12 points.
CSK had one of the most consistent batting lineups

CSK’s turnaround, according to Parthiv Patel, was due to an all-around squad effort, with both the top and middle orders performing their parts to excellence.
“It was important to make a collective comeback. That is exactly what has happened with CSK. Yes, openers did very well but I think the middle order was the key. Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina got a fifty, Ravindra Jadeja taking the opportunity,” quoted Parthiv Patel.
In IPL 2021, CSK had one of the most consistent batting lineups. Six of their batsmen reached half-centuries, indicating that they were not dependent on a single batsman. CSK had a different Player of the Match in each of the five matches they won.
Parthiv Patel lauded MS Dhoni for the way he optimized his resources and gain maximum output

“I had no doubts about it. CSK was in my top four even before the tournament started. But I thought the way MS Dhoni handled the team, it was remarkable. When you have to make a comeback you need a strong captain,” added Parthiv Patel.
Dhoni’s decision to bring Moeen Ali at No. 3 above Suresh Raina was a stroke of genius, according to Parthiv Patel.
MS Dhoni pushed himself back the order to allow in-form batters like Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, and Ravindra Jadeja to face the most deliveries.
“Everyone thought Suresh Raina will bat at No.3 but it was Moeen Ali. He knew what changes he needed to do. Everyone was thinking that MS Dhoni will come and bat at No.4 or No.5. He took a backseat, he knew that there are guys who are batting well and they should get more number of overs,” concluded Parthiv Patel.
