Parthiv Patel signs with Mumbai Indians as talent scout
Parthiv Patel who announced his retirement yesterday from all forms of cricket has been signed up by Mumbai Indians (MI) as a talent scout for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Parthiv was a former MI player himself having played a role in the IPL-winning sides in 2015 and 2017. It is reported that the 35-year-old will now work with the MI coaches and scouts.
Parthiv Patel is known for his scouting skills and is believed to have recommended Jasprit Bumrah to then Mumbai Indians’ coach John Wright. He was asked about the same by ESPNCricinfo and Parthiv said, “I wouldn’t like to take any credit for it, but I am quite proud that someone from my state team which I was leading went on to be the no.1 bowler.”

Speaking about MI’s decision to sign up Parthiv Patel, owner Akash Ambani said, “I am delighted to have Parthiv joining us. Parthiv expressed excitement about his new role and said, “I had enjoyed my cricket playing for Mumbai Indians, those momentous three years with the champion sides remain etched in my memory. It’s time now to turn a new chapter in my life. I am excited, confident, and thankful to the Mumbai Indians management for the opportunity presented to me.”
