Emma Raducanu is hoping to have a season sans injury issues in 2025 after hiring Grand Slam champions Maria Sharapova and Naomi Osaka‘s former fitness coach Yutaka Nakamura. With already a Grand Slam title in her trophy cabinet, Raducanu is considered a huge talent and many expect her to shine in the near future.

1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash suggested she has more at her disposal to make her a better player than Emma Navarro. The Australian recalled the time when he watched he watched the highlight of Raducanu winning the 2021 US Open which reminded him ‘how good’ Raducanu is.

We saw Navarro come through this year and Emma is definitely a better player than her. Navarro is tough, tricky, and competitive, but Raducanu has more to her game. You just have to hope Raducanu stays fit and can get matches under her belt because she certainly has the talent to do very well.

Cash however pointed out Raducanu’s issues with her forehand might have been a reason behind her injury struggles. The Brit had three surgeries last year and started the 2024 season outside of the top 300 but the youngster, with a 21/13 win-loss record ended the season as World No.57 thanks to her campaigns on the grass swing.

Emma Raducanu wears Rafael Nadal Nike t-shirt while training

Emma Raducanu has already started training for the 2025 season and she recently gave fans a glimpse of it. On Wednesday (December 11), Lawn Tennis Association’s X handle shared a picture of the 22-year-old during a training session.

Raducanu wore a white t-shirt which had these words on the back: ‘It only takes everything.’ It was a quote Nike used to pay tribute to Rafael Nadal before the final tournament of his career. The 22-time Grand Slam champion retired at the 2024 Davis Cup in Malaga.

It’s not the first time Raducanu wore a Nadal-inspired t-shirt. She donned a shirt with a bull logo during her second-round clash at the US Open.

Nadal has struggled throughout his career due to injuries and since the hip injury he suffered last year at the Australian Open, he did not play much and the injury finally forced him to call time on his career.
