Australian pacer Pat Cummins set to become a father this spring

Aussie pacer Pat Cummins is all set to become a father this spring as he awaits his first child with partner and long-term girlfriend Becky Boston. The fast-bowler has been in the news recently for his noble gesture in contributing for COVID-19 relief in India with his donation. He had given USD 50,000 to UNICEF Australia to aid in India’s fight against the dreaded second wave of the pandemic which has been wreaking havoc.

Cummins is presently in the Maldives after the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had taken the decision after the COVID-19 pandemic breached the teams’ bio-bubbles beginning with Cummins’ Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Even as the rest of the overseas players and the Indians left for home after the suspension, the Australians were left stranded in India.

This was because of a travel ban in their country that banned all flights and people from India including their own citizens till at least May 15. Therefore, for safety purposes, the Aussie contingent travelled to the Maldives. Cummins and co now await the government’s decision on lifting the ban so that they can return home.

Pat Cummins’ partner announces news of pregnancy

Pat Cummins’ partner Becky Boston took to Instagram today to post a picture of herself announcing her pregnancy. She wrote, “I can’t hide this happiness any longer!! Baby Boston Cummins will be joining us in Spring we are SO excited to meet you!!! @patcummins30“

Soon after she posted the picture, her feed was flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers around the world. The Kolkata Knight Riders franchise released a statement saying, “We hope to have Cummins back with us soon, but till then, wishing him and Becky a great time together – full of love, care and good health. Can’t wait to welcome the latest member of the Knight Riders family soon!”
