Pat McAfee has made a great impression in the media industry as an incendiary analyst through ‘The Pat McAfee Show.’ A few months ago, McAfee had made headlines for his comments on the Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Recently on his show, both McAfee and Rich Eisen showered the WNBA sensation with high praise.
During the show, both Pat McAfee and Eisen claimed that they supported Caitlin Clark. The former football player has mentioned that he was told by ‘the Universe’ not to talk about Clark during his ESPN segments.
Many fans believed that ‘the Universe’ McAfee was referring to was actually the ESPN heads and bosses who prohibited him from discussing Clark. However, McAfee has now clarified that it was not the ESPN heads, but rather ‘God’ who communicated with him.
The universe told me not to talk about her, yeah the universe, yeah God came in and was like, pal you probably go ahead and stop it.Pat McAfee said
In June, McAfee made a controversial statement referring to Clark as a ‘White B*tch’ while highlighting her impact on the WNBA. Although McAfee intended to praise Clark, the use of such offensive language drew widespread attention and criticism. Subsequently, he took to social media to issue a public apology to Clark for his inappropriate choice of words during the show
Caitlin Clark is certainly one of the most popular stars in the WNBA today. Since her debut, all eyes have been on her. Clark’s popularity has even caused a great spike in the prices of the Indiana Fever ticket prices.
Pat McAfee apologized to Caitlin Clark for using the B-word
Pat McAfee using the term ‘White B**ch’ quickly escalated into a national issue forcing the former NFL star to come out and apologize to Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. The ‘fun’, ‘goofy’ nature of the ESPN show often has its downsides when they go live.
I shouldn't have used 'white bi*ch' as a descriptor of Caitlin Clark. No matter the context.. even if we're talking about race being a reason for some of the stuff happening.Pat McAfee apologized on X
Pat McAfee has also made sure to let the world know that he is one of the biggest fans of the Indiana Fever superstar.
It is not the first time that McAfee show’s ‘unscripted’ nature caused controversy. Earlier this year, McAfee ignited another outrage when Aaron Rodgers had linked Jimmy Kimmel to be one of the associates of Jeffrey Epstein.
Pat McAfee might’ve stopped mentioning the WNBA star, but Clark’s exceptional performance has been the talking point of almost all sports media shows. She currently averages 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in the regular season, and is in strong contention for the Rookie of the Year alongside Angel Reese.
